Pluto is the ninth planet in the solar system. It was discovered in the mid and late twentieth century. It is the smallest planet in the solar system. In 2006, it was decided that the planet would be down graded to a dwarf planet. It has an eliptical orbit, which means that it sometimes comes closer to the sun, and other times, it goes farther away. It crosses into Neptune's orbit every now and then. It is very cold, with a warm temperature at about -270 degrees. It is about (it is hard to tell since humans have never visited the planet) 5 billion miles away from the sun. It would take about 10 years to reach the planet from the earth. There was a probe sent to the dwarf planet It is so cold, infact, that the moment you step on the planet, you would freeze to death almost immediatly. There was a probe sent to the planet in 2006. It is estimated that it is near Jupiter. It is supposed to reach Pluto in 2015.
